Each episode features a new conversation with current or former leaders in higher education, practitioner-scholars, as well as the occasional expert in the education of higher education administrators.
The goal of each episode is simple, to provide the listener with helpful insights to become better leaders in the field of higher education. Guests share their stories and important lessons-learned to help listeners achieve this goal.
From student affairs to public relations, the college campus boasts any number of roles to fit the backgrounds and career aspirations for future higher education administrators. Guests represent a wide-range of these organizational units.
ABOUT THE HOST
Dr. J.P. Matychak currently serves as an associate dean at Boston University Questrom School of Business. In this capacity, he oversees student affairs, academic and career advising, enrollment management, and academic program operations for all programs at Questrom. He works closely with the program senior associate deans on program continuous improvement and on new program development. J.P. also teaches management communications in both the undergraduate and graduate programs at Questrom.
J.P. joined Questrom in July 2013 as the assistant dean for career management prior to moving into his current role. Prior to Questrom, J.P. spent 10 years at the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business and College of Business Administration where he served as an academic advisor, assistant director of career services, and director of career services, in the undergraduate program.
J.P. holds a BS in Business and Economics from Lehigh University, an MEd in Higher Education Management from the University of Pittsburgh, and an EdD in Administrative and Policy Studies in Higher Education from the University of Pittsburgh. J.P.’s research focuses on traditional strategic planning, new methods for strategic planning that infuse agile and design thinking methods, and leadership in higher education.
